Harry Connick Jr. is a jazz singer-songwriter, musician, actor, TV host, and Broadway performer. His four-decade career has brought many accomplishments. Connick has sold more than 28 million albums worldwide, 16 million of which were sold in the U.S. He has released 26 studio albums, ten of which topped Billboard’s Jazz Albums chart. For his outstanding music, Connick has won three Grammy Awards. Moreover, his Broadway performances earned him a Tony Award nomination, while his TV performances earned him two Emmy Awards. Lastly, Connick has starred in many highly-acclaimed feature films. Connick is indeed a true star and a jack of all trades beloved by millions of fans worldwide. His 1993 release titled When My Heart Finds Christmas is recorded as his best-selling album in the U.S. Meanwhile, his 2004 effort, Only You, peaked at number 5 on the U.S. charts and number 6 in the U.K.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Harry Connick Jr. learned to play the keyboards at age three and joined a local jazz band at age ten. He was nine years old when he first performed Beethoven’s Piano Concert No. 3 with a major symphonic orchestra. His first entry into the music scene as a professional composer was in 1989, When Harry Met Sally. Connick provided the soundtrack for the romantic comedy film, later earning him his first Grammy Award for Best Jazz Male Vocal Performance. One year later, Connick contributed the song “Promise Me You’ll Remember,” to the Godfather III soundtrack. The song earned nominations at the Golden Globe Awards and Academy Awards one year later. Apart from jazz, Connick has branched into other genres, such as funk, swing, soul, and show tunes. This is evident in his 1994 album She, and in the score, he wrote for Broadway music, Thou Shalt Not.
